Powerful irish music and dance, emotive vocals atmospherically combined with narrative and engaging photographic slide show
ABOUT IRISH CHRISTMAS IN AMERICA
Following much-heralded 2005/2006/2007 tours, which sold out in many cities, Irish Christmas in America returns in December 2008 with a spellbinding presentation of seasonal Irish cultural traditions.
Produced by Oisín Mac Diarmada of award-winning traditional Irish group Téada, the cast also includes two of Ireland’s leading female vocalists, Cara Dillon and Karan Casey, Téada’s Sean McElwain on guitar and Tristan Rosenstock on bodhrán/narration. A photographic slide show, combining evocatively with engaging narrative brings a rich historical context. The magic of the Irish harp and uilleann pipes from leading exponents Gráinne Hambly and Tommy Martin augments the dancing of Brian Cunningham. Mingling ancient traditions with the contemporary artistry of some of Ireland’s finest performers, the enchanting show brings the spirit of Christmas on a distinctively Irish journey throughout America in December 2008.
