Following much-heralded 2005/2006 tours, which sold out in many cities, Irish Christmas in America returns in December 2007 with a spellbinding presentation of seasonal Irish cultural traditions.
Produced by Oisín Mac Diarmada of award-winning traditional Irish group Téada, the cast also includes one of Ireland’s leading female vocalists, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh of Danú, and Téada’s Sean McElwain on guitar and Tristan Rosenstock on bodhrán/narration. A photographic slide show, combining evocatively with engaging narrative brings a rich historical context. The magic of the Irish harp and uilleann pipes from leading exponents Gráinne Hambly and Tommy Martin augments the rhythmic pulse of Abbey Magill and Siena Hickey's stunning Irish dance. Mingling ancient traditions with the contemporary artistry of some of Ireland’s finest performers, the enchanting show brings the spirit of Christmas on a distinctively Irish journey throughout America in December 2007.
